The Arts hit the Stage at SMUS

Newsies – The Senior School Musical

The Arts really took to the literal spotlight this week with the Annual Senior School musical hitting the stage at the McPherson Theatre this week, with the Newsies production!

FIVE of our Timmis Tigers saw no fear and played their parts with incredible ease, talent and courage!

Congratulations to Fa, Ines, Salma, Alana, and Chanel for this incredible performances. It was a tiring few months for these actors as they tirelessly rehearsed for months leading up to this weekends FOUR showings.

Youth Art Show Opening

The musical was not the only demonstration of incredible artistic talent this week, the Annual Youth Art show filled the halls of the McPherson Theatre for exhibit as part of the intermissions of the musical. The grand opening of the art show was on Wednesday, March 4th and many of the Timmis Tigers were represented in the show. The art show is always a stunning demonstration of talent!

Saturday Activities

An art focus ran through even our Saturday Activities this week! A group went to see the newest rendition of the Joker story on the big screen. Another group decided to spend part of their Saturday at the musical production…

While one group headed to the beach for a clean-up activity, another spent the afternoon with Ms. Emmett creating recycled scrap books. More creative work!

This coming week a number of outdoor spring activities are in full swing!

The Sr. Girls Rugby team has a tournament on Friday,
the Outdoor Education leaders head to Manning Park for a Winter camping Adventure,
the Jr. & Sr. Girls Soccer teams have a number of games against other local high schools,
and today Ruby and Tessa are on the water at an Elk Lake Rowing Regatta!

Stay tuned for updates on these and other events.
