Grade 11 Cohort B had their Outdoor Education trips from May 16-18, building, gardening, rock climbing, hiking, sea kayaking, and sailing. They had a blast and were exhausted at the end of each day. Cohort A will have their turn at the end of the month.
The last long weekend saw everyone remain on campus where the sun shone and friends were plentiful. Timmis took advantage of many activities offered: beach trips to Camp Pringle on Shawnigan Lake and local Willows Beach, mini golf, Wildplay high ropes course and zip-line, stand-up paddle boarding, bike tours, bowling, yoga, barbecue, slip-and-slide, an ice cream truck, and field games. Jenny and Richard, the BoTi fun organizers, brought us out for water balloons, glow-in-the-dark tag, and an outdoor movie (Toy Story – a classic!). For dinner tonight we ordered in pizza, and there was a cotton candy, popcorn and mini-doughnut truck on site for evening snacks! It was like a carnival and was so much fun.
Timmis also officially began cleaning rooms in anticipation for the end of the year. Two hours were spent sorting clothing and cleaning drawers, closets, and shelves, decluttering, donating, and recycling as we go. Four large garbage of clothing donations were generated in that short period of time. Donations of clothing, office supplies, bedding and towels support community centres in the city. Well done!
As we enter the fourth last week of school, we are all thankful for a weekend of fun and friends, and are looking forward to a strong finish to the year!
